Annual Goldfish Swim

Every year at the end of the season our local swimming pool takes all the chlorine out of the pool and adds in 300 goldfish to swim around until they are caught and taken to a new, loving home. This was our first year participating and the boys were so pumped! Both had their fish named before we even got to the pool. Hudson named his fish Swimmy and Graidan named his fish Gilbert. On the way into the pool Hudson was singing "We are going on a rescue mission to save Swimmy and Gilbert!"

Hudson caught his within the first couple of minutes all by himself (as you can see from the expression on his face, he was a little excited!)

Rub-a-dub-dub, 4 kidlets in a tub

My way to help Nigel and Nicole move was to send Ryan's muscles over to them and take the little ones off their hands. Tonight Nic dropped the 2 oldest off with us for a little play and after enough sand and sweat I ended up throwin all of them in the tub..... at once! lol

I may pay for this down the road, but for now it is just too cute!

Moving home

Summer is quickly coming to an end and so are our days living at the cabin. we got semi-moved into town today and are getting ready for school to start. Hudson has his first hour orientation in a couple of days so I was sure happy to see their new backpacks being delivered to us today. Thanks Trace for picking them up for us!

So excited with how the personalized backpacks, lunch kits and water bottles turned out. Each boy got to pick their design and color from this catalogue. They were almost as excited as I was!

Same old table and chairs :(
But I have big plans for these babies later this fall, or possibly in the spring!
I am going to try to spary paint the metal a dark brown to match the rest of the furniture now.

"The lake is butter, let's shred'

Tonight we had an awesome night out with the Miller clan on the water. Dylan, made a quick stop at home before heading off to BC for Nationals. I was sooo hoping that the boys would get out on the water with him and after talking all the way out there, Graidan couldn't convinve himself to do it. Nonetheless we still got to see Dylan go for a ride. It is always awesome to see what he can do. He is living his dream peeps!

Just a few short days later Dylan captured the national title in the pro division in Kamloops, BC. See story here. We are just so proud of you Dyl! Keep doing what you love!!!

A DINO-mite time!!!!

Our little "ROSS" (Friends reference to Ross Geller if you didn't catch it) is a dinosaur freak! You can ask him just bout any dinosaur and he can tell you if it is a meat or plant eater, what period it is from and even how long their teeth are?!?! Our mission this summer was to make sure we got him to the dinosaur museum, so this is what started this whole Alberta trip discussion in the first place. We had such a full day of activities and the kids programs were above and beyond! They boys got to dig for dinosaur bones, cast their own fossils in moulds to take home and hike through the trails where the dinosaurs once roamed. Hudson was in his glory at the end of the day!

This fun-filled day was followed by a 3 hours trek on to Edmonton to see my sisters for 4 days. It was soooo not like me to not have my camera out but I think I was just too relaxed and enjoying the trip that I wasn't hauling it around with me all the time?!?!?!

Cutie-pie Kids!

Our little family took a very fun trip out to Alberta to see both sides of our families in one swoop. It was alot of driving but I am so glad we took the time to do it. Our first stop was Ryan's brother, Chris' house. We got to spend an awesome 2 days with their girls Brooke and Hailey and there I got to get my camera out! What a treat little Brooke is to photograph. She loooooves to pose which made my 'job' alot easier ;)

You may or may not notice that I do not have one photo of Hudson here. That is because the one and only one he sat for he had the silliest face on that it is not worth showing.
