MS Fundraiser

This is the second year that my friend, a photographer, transformed a part of her yard into an eastery backdrop. She advertises free Easter photos for a donation to her MS walk and continues to raise a good amount of money and give fab photos all at the same time.

Every day

This is definately one of our "go-to" breakfasts around this house. The boys love their yogourt and crunch (as they call it) and ask for it just about every morning. Can't say I mind as fat free yogourt and granola is much healthier than many of the possible breakfast alternatives I can think of ie: pop tarts, eggos, sugary cereal. It's all good with me :)

Daffodils for CCS

Every year the Canadian Cancer Society sells daffodils in the spring as a fundraiser and every year we buy some to spruce up our house a little bit and support a great cause all at once. I am alwasy amazed at how over night they can go from little buds of a flower to full bloom. Love the little pop of color on the table right now :)

Coloring Up A Storm

I understand that 2 kids from the same family and the same upbringing can have their differences but I find that our boys can be absolute, opposites in almost everything they do. Graidan is my crafter whereas Hudson could care less about touching a pencil crayon or a glue stick. I brought these coloring contests home from the grocery store today and Graidan was all over them. He finished his and then when Hudson overheard me telling Graidan that they would be displayed in the store window he though he wanted to be in on the fun. Well he came up and colored for about 3-0 seconds before he realized he really wasn't missing out on anything at all. He then got down from the table and when I saw all he had done was scribble on his paper I told him I really didn't want to take that to the store to have it displayed. Graidan then took it upon himself to "fix" Hudson's artwork so that they could both go the to grocery store. Oh, dear!!!! :)

Passport to Disney

It is time for 2 of us in the house to renew our passports so I best get going as Disney World is quickly approaching....

Angry BIRDS

Our friends stopped by tonight for a long overdue supper and with her she brought the boys a gift.  They both play the Angry Bird game on their iPads but in their words it is called "ANGRY CHICKENS" Hahaha

Spring Scrap Retreat

This weekend I had a little getaway to our spring scrap retreat out at Kenosee. I have come to look forward to this as it is becoming apparent that this is the only time I am able to get any crafting done. I mean real uninterrupted, relaxing crafting. I LOVE it!!

MAC & Cory's 40th Birthday Party

Ryan and I had a quick weekend getaway to Edmonton this weekend without the boys. My brother-in-law's 40th Birthday is quickly coming up and my sister was wanting to celebrate. We flew out on Thursday and came back on Monday morning. One of the things I wanted to do while we were there is to visit the MAC cosmetics store and have a make-over. I had been wanting to try the makeup there for a while but hadn't had the opportunity to do so just yet. Being that we were going out tonight, we decided Saturday was the time to do it.

After our appointments we had to rush back to the gym to see the last volleyball game of the day before heading out for the evening. We were exhausted from all the running but so was Mahkai at this point. He fell asleep sitting up in my arms. Love this little man!

Ready for Easter

It is beginning to feel a little more like spring with the nice weather we have been having, and therefore it is time to get out the Easter decor....

Mom's on Skates

As an end of the year kick off, the coaches decided that they boys should play the moms in a game. I was a tad reluctant, as I hadn't been on skates in about 10 years and that was on figure skates opposed to hockey skates, but when the one coach assured me that he still remembers when he played his mom in hockey almost 30 years agoI then realized that this was for the boys and whether I made a fool out of myself or not was not the concern. In the end it was alot of fun and now I am out there skating with the boys rather than sitting in the stands cheering them on!

Jr Cougar Home Tournament

This weekend we hosted the initiation team's first ever home tournament. Everyone on the organizing committee deserves a big pat on the back as it turned out awesome! The trophies that each player received were especially adorable!
