Getting creative

The boys have been absolute troopers through our whole reno process. It was a long 4 weeks for them spending alot of time trying to occupy themselves at Papa's so that we could get some work done and get things completed before mom came home.

With the growing mound of garbage in the backyard came a new opportunity and new treasures. Hudson found an old door that soon became and racetrack. Such a gorgeous day outside made better when the boys can stay out of mommy and Papa's hair. Time is ticking and the hours are running out until mom gets home. Stay tuned for the big reveal!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to my super amazing Mom. So thankful for all that you do for me. You are everthing I aspire to be for my boys and I wouldn't change you for the world. We love you!!!
Thanks to my spectacular sis for posting this pic of my mom and her sister, Darlene, so I could steal it!

I spent this beautiful Sunday with my dad, Ryan and boys furiously trying to complete the basement reno project before my mom returns home next week. When she left for her treatment and we were told she would be gone for 4 weeks I initially thought it was a long time.....now I am not sure we can get everything done before she get back. Yikes!!

Stay tuned for a complete photo storyboard on our fun-filled demo!

Road trip.....and a little lost

Dad and I took off on what was to be a 'quick' little trip to Foulliard Carpet in St Lazare, MB to pick out new carpet for their basement. I was up at 5:15am to get ready to be on the road by 6. Our plan was to go, pick out carpet and be home by noon so there was stil time to fit in a project or 2 in the basement. We got within a few minutes of St. Lazare to discover that the Assiniboine River had overflowed to its breaking point and flooded out the highway, making our route impassable.

This poor farm is completely underwater.....
The house is in behind the trees and looks to be okay for now but only with the help of a very large number of sandbags.

After a few phone calls to find out what highways weren't washed out we made a little 90 minute detour to get to our destination. It didn't take us long to choose once we got into the warehouse. What a great selection they had!

30 minutes later we were back on the road and heading for home. We figured out a better route home to avoid the water and numerous frost boils on the highways. To dad's delight we were able to pass by his favorite java stop on the way home. Anybody that knows my dad, knows that he could quite possibly tell you every Tim's on any route!!!!

Photo wall finished!

I have finally got my photo wall all finished. The frames have been sitting there all labelled and organized patiently awaiting the arrival of these......
I don't know where they have been all my life but they certainly made this little project as pain free as possible.
Here is the 'After' to my previous post. See how it looked when I started here.
I am pretty stoked with how it turned out. It could still use a little tweaking here and there but most of all I am really looking forward to being able to change out photos and sayings with each season

Devastation for our Little Laney

Poor Laney! It is just a few weeks before Laney is to make an appearance at her very first National Championships for gymnastics in Charlottetown, PEI and something very simple quickly changes her travel plans.
While training tonight Laney broke BOTH her growth plates in BOTH of her ankles........

I am just so sad for her to have worked so hard and done so well this season for it to all come to an end so abruptly. I guess injuries are the nature of the sport but I may be more sad that she is hurting and upset to not be going. Chin up little Squeak! Here's hoping you heal fast! We will all be cheering you on next season at nationals in REGINA!!!

Twisted Yogourt

It was a backwards supper kind of day! Dessert first is the best kind of meal and this was no exception. Our Alberta girls introduced us to a new place and now it seems we have to stop at least once each time we are out for a visit. It's called Twisted Yogourt and it's suce a cool concept.

You start by choosing one of our eight flavours of fresh, natural non fat frozen yogurt and then add on as many of our over 50 toppings as you can load into your bowl. By making it yourself it always is exactly the way you like it. You then weigh your creation and pay so much per ounce. Really fun and super yummy!!!
