It was such a beautiful night that I was torn. I stayed home while Ryan took the boys out trick or treating. I LOVE seeing all the little ones that come to our door but it was so unusually nice that I also wanted to be out and about this year!

Disney Dreaming

7 months today and we will be flying home form our 16 family trip to Disney World. The boys talk about it non-stop and at the beginning of every Disney movie where is shows Cinderella's castle withthe fireworks Graidan screams out "We going there!". This morning while indulging in one of my favorite new passtimes, browsing PINTEREST I came across this place that you can write a letter to any Disney character and they will send you back an autographed picture. Although the boys cannot write they did tell me what they wanted to say as I wrote it all out.

Hope this works. I am excited to see if something comes back or not!

Mmmm! Pumpkin Seeds!

The reward for all the hard work cleaning these things! Love myself some pumpkin seeds!

Halloween Pumkin Carving 2011

Halloween is quickly approaching and being that I was working full-time this week I kind of dropped the ball on getting the pumpkin carving party going! We had our pumpkins already from Meandher Creek Pumpkin Patch thankfully so it was just time to get down to business.

Monster Toast

One of the boys brought this cute little project home from school today and since Graidan had requested "flat" eggs (opposed to hard boiled) for supper we decided to give the MONSTER TOAST a try too. Basically, we just mixed food coloring of their choice with milk and they then painted pictures on the bread before we put them in the toast. This is not something that we will do often, but a cute project all the same.
Love that Graidan is concentrating so hard that his tongue is sticking out. Makes me recall a certain Shelley Farnden doing this lots as a kid whenever he concentration was in check ;)

Very First Hockey Practice

Today was the very first hockey practice for the boys. I have to admit, I was a little concerned about putting Graidan in hockey so early at first but knew that he had the drive and ability to excel. I think for being the onlly 3 year old on the ice, he did pretty darn well!

Graidan is in the black Bruins jersey and Hudson is in the navy Oiler's jersey.
Enjoy the sneak peak!

Getting Scrappin'

I was so lucky to be able to get away on a girls weekend-long scrapbooking retreat. I cannot believe how relaxing it was. Have a little visit as you sit around getting creative, eat when you want (and ACTUALLY get to eat when things are still hot!) got to bed when you want, sleep in........ I don't know why I haven't done this before!

To wrap up the weekend when I got home Sunday afternoon the house was completely spotless, boys were napping and there was steak and potatoes on the BBQ ready for supper. I have the best husband!

Back on the ice!

This is the first time the boy shave been out on the ice in equipment....ever! I was a little nervous about how they would make out but kids are so resilient, they both powered through like troopers! Can't wait for the season to start boys!

Hockey - here we come!

We thought it was time to try on all the hockey gear and make sure both boys were set for the upcoming season. Graidan wants to put his equipment on every day.

My Boys

This week continues to be a tough one as the whole community grieves. I came across these pictures I took the day Mya passed away and once again I am reminded of how lucky I am to have these two amazing little men in my life. It is unfortunate that it takes something like this to shake a person up and really make you stop. Slow down. Be thankful. Hug a little tighter. Hold on a little longer. Appreciate.

Hudson and Graidan, YOU are my sunshine, the lights of my life, my everything and never do I want to live a day of my life without you in it. I love you both....to the moon and back

Sweet Little Angel

What a shock...... friends of ours suffered an unimaginable tragedy today when they lost their beautiful little girl in a freak accident. Sweet little Mya Dawn was just 21 months old and it was just too soon for her to go. As a parent you try to put yourself in the place of her parents and try to imagine, just for a minute, what they are possibly going through. You then realize it is just too hard and hurs too much to even think about and then once again are left trying to understand. Oh what I wouldn't give to try and take some of the hurt they are feeling. Emptyness. Sadness. Hurt. Tyler and Krystal, my hope for you is that you can one day find a place that the memories are sweet and the hurt lessens. You are so very loved and Mya was such a blessing, however short her stay.

If tears could build a stairway,
And memories were a lane,
We would walk right up to heaven
To bring you down again.
No farewell words were spoken,
No time to say good-bye.
You were gone before we knew it,
And only God knows why.
Our hearts still ache in sadness
And secret tears still flow,
What it meant to lose you,
No one will ever know.
When we are sad and lonely,
And everything goes wrong,
We seem to hear you whisper
"Cheer up and carry on."
Each time we look at your pictures,
You seem to smile and say,
"Don't cry, I'm only sleeping,
We'll meet again someday."

Meandher Creek Pumpkin Patch 2011

Our family just loves this little place and cannot believe we didn't know it was here sooner than our inaugral visit last year. So much for the kiddos to do and explore. This year the weather could have cooperated a little bit better. We were frozen by the time we got around to see and do all the stations. Darn wind! Grandma and Grandpa O'Neill joined us today since Ryan had to be at work. We missed him but the boys still had lots of fun with Grandpa.

I am going to bombard you with photos now.....I took ALOT!

We were too chicken to let the boys go on the zip-lines last year. They were more than capable of hanging on but I was being that overprotective mom ;) They loved it so much they had to go for round after round, each riding 6 times before we could tear them away!

Hudson turns 5....officially

Last night while putting Hudson to bed I told him "This is the very last time I will tuck my 4 year old into bed cause tomorrow you will wake up and be 5!" He said to me, "So do you want me to stay 4 forever?" Well, yes, I do but I would not be capable of making such a thing happen. Next I asked him what one thing he would really like for his 5th birthday. His reply after a short pause "I think I already have everything I need." SERIOUSLY???? I mean, he is not entirely wrong. He does have A LOT of toys, cars, dinosaurs, books but to hear that as a reply my heart melted. What a kid!

When he woke up this morning the first thing he did was run to the growth chart and needed measured because he was absolutely certain that now that he was 5 that he had grown....

He even got to open a couple of presents before school
*****
What do ya know??? More Cars2 cars! There must be at least 2 that he doesn't have anymore!!

At noon hour today I was able to drop off some of the bat cupcakes I had decorated in the Kindergarten room. I am no Cake Boss by any means but for my first attempt at ever decorating any type of cake/cupcake they weren't terrible....

About you:
You are the most tender hearted little boy
I love to hear you giggle  right from the bottom of your toes
There is not a dinosaur you do not know
You tell people that when you grow up you are going to be  paleontologist but Uncle Les tells you you are going to be a 'chicken inspector'.
You are very loved
