First Annual Mya's Day

One year has passed since our friends lost their sweet little girl. Not a day goes by that we don't think of her or her family and what they must be going through and will continue to go through.

This evening the rainy, windy sky was lit with paper lanterns being released all over town as people remembered and honored Mya and other loved ones lost. It was such a fantastic idea and truly does show what an embrassing, supportive community we live in.

These are the little visitors I had in my yard this week.......

Hugs to you all who have suffered this past year and before.....

Four Months

Four months have passed since little Miss Mya has left this earth to join the angels and look after her mom, dad and big brother. I was surprised by the sweetest gift that still brings tears to my eyes. Mya's parents had these mementos made and we were honored to have received one. Krystal and Tyler, you continue to amaze me with your generosity, love, strength and courage. You carry yourselves with such grace and poise in a time in your lives when it would be perfectly acceptable for things to be so different.

It is just gorgeous and leaves me speechless. She now adorns our photo gallery wall with all the rest of our family and loved ones.

Sweet Little Angel

What a shock...... friends of ours suffered an unimaginable tragedy today when they lost their beautiful little girl in a freak accident. Sweet little Mya Dawn was just 21 months old and it was just too soon for her to go. As a parent you try to put yourself in the place of her parents and try to imagine, just for a minute, what they are possibly going through. You then realize it is just too hard and hurs too much to even think about and then once again are left trying to understand. Oh what I wouldn't give to try and take some of the hurt they are feeling. Emptyness. Sadness. Hurt. Tyler and Krystal, my hope for you is that you can one day find a place that the memories are sweet and the hurt lessens. You are so very loved and Mya was such a blessing, however short her stay.

If tears could build a stairway,
And memories were a lane,
We would walk right up to heaven
To bring you down again.
No farewell words were spoken,
No time to say good-bye.
You were gone before we knew it,
And only God knows why.
Our hearts still ache in sadness
And secret tears still flow,
What it meant to lose you,
No one will ever know.
When we are sad and lonely,
And everything goes wrong,
We seem to hear you whisper
"Cheer up and carry on."
Each time we look at your pictures,
You seem to smile and say,
"Don't cry, I'm only sleeping,
We'll meet again someday."
