Meandher Creek Pumpkin Patch 2012

The day had finally come that we were able to venture out to the pumpkin patch. The sun was out and it turned out to be an absolutely beautiful day. As usual the boys had a blast and we were sure happy to have Grandma and Grandpa O'Neill come along and spend the day with us once again!!!

I am not a huge fan of the changes in weather and the dropping temperatures overall but one thing it does force me to do is go inside and this is when I finally find myself back in my scrapbook/craft room after I negelcted it all summer. This is when little prjoects liek this pumkin come to life and I couldn't love them more!

First Annual Mya's Day

One year has passed since our friends lost their sweet little girl. Not a day goes by that we don't think of her or her family and what they must be going through and will continue to go through.

This evening the rainy, windy sky was lit with paper lanterns being released all over town as people remembered and honored Mya and other loved ones lost. It was such a fantastic idea and truly does show what an embrassing, supportive community we live in.

Hudson Turns 6!!!

We couldn't have asked for a better party today. The crisp Fall weather turned warm and Spring-like for the day. The kids all came ready to play and have lots of fun and my birthday boy was all smiles!

He chose a Halloween themed party this year. Originally, we had toyed with the idea that the kids could come dressed up but in the end we decided that playing games in costumes wasn't the best idea PLUS we didn't want to add any added stress to the moms that hadn't yet had a chance to get costumes for their kids 2 weeks before Halloween. In the end we played games and had a blast.

We had a couple of scavenger hunts in the yard where we hid 11 pieces of 2 different colored skeletons and the teams had to work together to assemble them the fastest to win.

Another fun thing we did was a mini photo booth with all the kids!

I was so very proud of Hudson this year. Instead of getting any presents this year, he asked that all of his friends take what money they might have spent on him and instead give him money so he can donate it to our local swimming pool that is currently undergoing major reconstruction. He did not for a minute, complain or even miss the fun new toys and was pretty proud himself to tell people what he wanted for his birthday. You are the best buddy!

Hudson, you are the most caring little "old man" that I know. You are constantly thinking of other and would never intentionally hurt anyone's feelings. You can have a slight temper at times but it is usually short-lived and due to lack of sleep (somewhat like your mom :) ). I cannot get over how quickly you are growing up!
You are so very loved!!!  

Hudson's School Cupcakes

Because Hudson's birthday fell on a weekend this year, we made up his cupcakes and took them to school a couple of days before the BIG day. He was pretty pumped and just gushed as I finished them up.....which makes it all worth the slaving in the kitchen, the mess I make and the endless dishes.

New Toys for Boys

When mom is away the boys will play..... and that is exactly what happened here. I was in the city shopping and received a call on my cell from a sweet little 4 year old saying " Hi, mom. Can we buy a quad?" Turns out dad and Graidan had gone shopping as well....only to spend alot more money than I was ever thinking of on one shopping trip!

Creative Tables for Cancer

It is quickly becoming a yearly even for us and turned out to be another great event this year again. Darlene Olsen of Mary Kay puts on quite the spectacular event as did our fabulous hostesses for the year at our witch themed table.

Paint Wars

This year our family photos were a little different than we are used to. I had found a picture on a blog a couple of years ago and was wanting to try something similar to it ever since....and who other than Starr Mercer of Starlite Studio Photography to help see the vision?? We had a lot of fun, after the boys could get over the fact that mom was letting them do this!!!

 I will post pics once they are back from her, but for now here is a little sneak peek of the boys once we were done......

Bedtime Stories

Now that Hudson is reading, he does the majority of the story telling at night, but tonight I got the chance to read to the boys tonight.

Under the Weather

We have a sick little man in the house today. When this one is not feeling well you can normally see a difference in how he is acting but if he is lying around then you know it is not good. Nothing like a bowl of dry Fruit Loops and cartoons to make you feel better :)
