Oak Lake 2012

Our annual camping trip to Oak Lake was this past weekend and did not let us down. The kids are getting to such a great age that you don't have to be constantly fussing over them or worrying that they are going to carelessly fall into thte fire pit. They play so well together and with the Himmelspeck and Benjamins that it, really does feel like a holiday!

Snow Cones in Summer

Target had these adorable kits for snow cones and I just couldn't resist. We used the Margaritaville to shave/crush the ice and whipped them up!

2 weeks at the pool

We put the boys in a 2 week session of lessons again thsi year. We would normally be done at the beginning of summer but with the pool opening so much later due to repairs this year we were forced to move into August.

Both boys had fantastic teachers again and loved every minute of being in the water.

We had our friends, the Fehrebachs, out to spend the day on the water with us today. Hudson was so excited for Ty to get out to the lake! He hadn't seen him since school was out and I am sure as soon as they see one another it will be like they never left off.

Couple of goofs!

Pool Filling

After a long awaited 6 weeks, the pool is finally getting close to opening. This morning I met the fire department and the Town Water Rep to see how much and how quickly we could get the pool filling without shorting the rest of the town of water.

We got it started and are hoping in the next 48 hours we will be one step closer to opening and having this mess behind us!



Super-dooper Slides

While Danica, Mike and the boys were still home, we made a trip to the Kenosee Superslides. Danielle and the boys also joined us. I was even more excited when we got there to discover that the boys could go up the hill with me still able to see them and then I could be at the bottom of the slide when they came out. They had a great day and I didn't have to go up and down the hill numerous times which means I had a pretty great day as well!

End of Another School Year

Another school year has come to an end. I did up little gifts for both classes again this year. Graidan's was pretty simply just a ball with a tag that says "I hope you have a BALL this summer!"

Hudson's class got some Krazy Straw cups with Kool Aid attached and a tag that says "Have a KRAZY KOOL summer"

YUM!!!

The boys and I made Nutella Pops today (as we have now coined them). Basically, you take 1/3 C Nutella and 1 C milk, I put mine in my Magic Bullet to mix up and pour into popsicle cups. They are so good and so easy.

Will surely be a summer staple in our lives over the next couple of months.
